inanyevent.ch - jun 15, 2011
inanyevent.ch, the new English-language online guide to events and leisure activities in Switzerland, launches on June 15, 2011. The service is aimed at some 80,000 English-speaking expats currently residing in Switzerland, an estimated 1 million English-speaking tourists who visit the country every year, and companies wishing to reach these markets.
The Geneva-based site covers the whole country and activities listed include art, dance, excursions, festivals, food & wine, music, kids, sports, theatre, trade shows, traditional and “unusual”.
“While writing a recent ‘what’s on’ column for Edipresse, I discovered that there is a great deal is to do in Switzerland,” says inanyevent.ch Editor, Marcus Berry.
“But I was also struck by how scattered and difficult to assemble this kind of information is, especially in English.”
“I felt this presented an opportunity to create a one-stop service, which would appeal to both expats and tourists,” he adds.
Video and audio reports and interviews relating to more permanent activities such as exhibitions, museums and excursions will be featured on the site.
The Tribune de Genève and 24 Heures websites have launched a related blog.
Three other staff members contribute towards technical, administration and listings for inanyevent.ch on a part-time basis.
inanyevent.ch has recently secured an advertising deal with car rental giant Avis and is actively seeking further contracts and sponsorship.
Marcus Berry is the former Editor-in-Chief of Edipresse site, Swisster, and former General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of World Radio Geneva now World Radio Switzerland.
He has also worked as a communications consultant for the United Nations.
