Brillantmont
Foundedin 1882, Brillantmont International School is a fully accredited day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11-18. The school is located in the centre of Lausanne and a daily bus service collects students at Lausanne station. Behind the facades of the magnificent buildings lie the very latest facilities, including a new multi-purpose sports hall, ready for use in 2012.
Brillantmont offers a British programme (Years 7-13, IGCSE, AS, A Level) and an American programme (Grades 6-12). Approximately 15 volunteers make up the BIF team and their training consists of a 6-month basic course followed by continuous ongoing training.
All volunteers are trained to listen actively, with empathy but without judgment in order to provide support and guidance to the person in question. Several languages are spoken: French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Swedish.
The BIF has a regularly updated computerized database as well as other resources at hand.
A place to be heard.......welcoming and without time constraints. Volunteers take the time necessary to understand an individual’s concerns and get to the heart of the problem, whether it is on the phone or in person.
A place for information...... continuous training means that the volunteers are able to supply updated information regarding private life (family, married couple etc.), professional life (worker’s rights, etc) and some basic legal information (notably separation, divorce).
A place for guidance….
…if the volunteers themselves are unable to find solutions to the problem, they will direct them to other organizations within the canton of Vaud which are able to offer more specialized help for that particular problem.

The role of the Development Economic – State of Vaud (“DEV”) is to promote the economy, facilitate the establishment of new companies and to create jobs in the region.
DEV is an association formed and financed by the Canton of Vaud and its members. It has been organized specifically to welcome and assist foreign companies in setting-up their activities in the region.

Sport for Life is a Swiss Foundation dedicated to sport and the promotion of its values. It is recognised as a public utility and tax exonerated. Sport for Life's Founder and President is Hugh Quennec and its Ambassador is the former tennis player, Amélie Mauresmo.
Its objectives are to educate and increase awareness of sport's values, to increase its practice as well as develop and support promising young athletes. To reach its goals, Sport for Life implements several programs directed towards young people. The primary program "Le Petit Sport" encourages the practice of sport, the second program focuses on "Experience sharing" and the third is the "Development of promising young athletes".
