OWIT: The rise of the global south
“The Global South is a concept that describes the nations of Africa, Central and Latin America, and most of Asia, roughly but certainly not perfectly south of the equator.
The countries often share a less stabile political and economic situation, a former colonial history but also rich cultures, and knowledge bases, access to resources and commodities and an enormous potential for economic growth and a rising socio-economic and geo-political influence.”
The objective of the evening is to offer participants a better understanding of the socio-cultural, political and economic impact these countries are likely to have on global development, cultural phenomena, geopolitics and business.
